Dr Nathalie Farpour-Lambert, M.D., P.D., M.P.H. is a pediatrician specialized in childhood obesity, physical activity, nutrition, public health and global health policy. Since 2006, she is the founding Head of the Obesity Prevention and Care Program at the University Hospitals of Geneva, Switzerland, and a member of the “Commission on Childhood Obesity” of the Swiss Pediatric Society. Her work focus particularly on pregnant women, children and families, and includes promoting access to quality care, education, innovative research and policies. From 2008 to 2021, she was the Chair of the Childhood Obesity Task Force, President-Elect and President of the European Association for the Study of Obesity. She is an advisor in the WHO European NCDs Advisory Council, in the WHO HQ Guidelines Development Group on the management of obesity in childhood and adolescents, and in the Active Wellbeing Initiative. She serves as a consultant for the European Commission and the WHO, as well as a member of the Steering Committee of the Lancet Commission on the Definition and diagnostic criteria of clinical obesity. She recently worked on the development of the “WHO Health service delivery framework for prevention and management of obesity”, the “UHC Compendium” and WHO training courses for health care professionals.
