Dr. Hanan F. Abdul Rahim

Dr. Hanan F. Abdul Rahim is a Professor of Public Health at Qatar University, with a career spanning over two decades in academia and research. She holds a B.Sc. in Biology from Salem College (1992), an M.Sc. in Biological Sciences from Illinois State University (1994), and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Oslo (2003). Dr. Abdul Rahim has held various academic and leadership positions. She is currently the Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Qatar University, where she played a pivotal role in shaping public health education and research as a founding member of the B.Sc. and Master of Public Health programs.
Dr. Abdul Rahim has made significant contributions to public health through teaching, student supervision, and research, particularly in the fields of noncommunicable diseases, women’s health, and mental health. In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Abdul Rahim has been actively involved in national and international public health initiatives. She is a member of the WHO’s Public Health and Emergency Workforce Roadmap Steering Committee and the Lancet Commission on Evidence-Based Implementation in Global Health. Her work has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and she has been a keynote speaker at various international conferences
