Panel discussion on teacher wellbeing and its impact on student learning and wellbeing
In this panel discussion, authors of a recent WISE report on teacher wellbeing will discuss findings from a scoping literature review and interviews with teachers, leaders, policymakers and students. The panel will address the importance of teacher wellbeing on student learning and wellbeing and highlights implications for policy and practice. Panel Speakers: – Ahmed Baghdady has worked in education for 30 years. Before moving to Canada in 2022, he managed research partnerships for Qatar Foundation. Ahmed has previously worked for RAND Corporation, the Institute of International Education (IIE), and AMIDEAST and is currently Manager, International Agreements at the University of Waterloo. – María Fernanda, known as Nanda, is the Networks Manager at The Wellbeing Project, combining her passion for wellbeing with her expertise in management and teaching. Currently pursuing an MBA, she also has a background in International Relations and Geopolitics and is committed to promoting mind-body balance and social change. – Maryam Al-Khalaf, is the Programs Development Manager at the Executive Education Center, which is part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). Previously, she was the Research Lead at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of the Qatar Foundation. Maryam’s primary research interests include educational leadership, higher education, entrepreneurship education, well-being and learning sciences, and social and emotional learning. Before her tenure at WISE, she worked in the corporate sector, where she managed special projects, new business initiatives, and bilateral agreements with multiple global corporations.
