Electronic-Urban Primary Health Centers (eUPHC) provide comprehensive healthcare and a spectrum of specialist services, such as cardiology, orthopedics, endocrinology and medicine through telemedicine systems in India. In a unique public private partnership initiative, Apollo TeleHealth Services leverages ICT to address the unmet need for essential primary health care services among urban poor living in slum areas. Over 164 eUPHCs have served one million patients via approximately 3 million GP tele-consultations, 280,500 specialist tele-consultations and more than 2 million lab tests on close to 500,000 lab referrals.
