Can AI Help Care Stay Human in an Ageing World?
Ageing populations, chronic disease, long-term care demand, workforce shortages and caregiver fatigue are increasing pressure on families, nurses and social care systems. AI and robotics are being introduced for home monitoring, fall detection, cognitive support, medication adherence, companionship and end-of-life care. The session asks whether these tools can support dignity, compassion and human presence, or risk displacing the human core of caregiving.
