Attacks on Health: From Documentation to Action (By Invitation only)
Two years after the WISH–WHO report In the Line of Fire, attacks on health facilities, workers, patients and ambulances continue despite stronger monitoring and international attention.
This roundtable will examine what has changed since 2024 and why better documentation has not always led to greater protection and accountability. It will explore how international law, diplomacy, monitoring and cooperation can work together more effectively to turn evidence into action and better protect healthcare during conflict.
Emerging Health Challenges, Cooperation and the Role of Middle Powers
Global health needs are changing, driven by ageing populations, chronic diseases, climate risks, emerging diseases and humanitarian crises. At the same time, global health funding and cooperation are evolving.
Looking beyond 2030, which health challenges should be prioritised, how should they be funded and how can countries work together more effectively?
“The roundtable will explore three connected areas:
- Health beyond 2030 – Future priorities and emerging threats.
- Funding and cooperation – Sustainable financing and international collaboration.
- Regional and middle powers – Their role in global health, including the GCC and Qatar.”
