H.E. Mr. Sultan bin Hassan Al-Jamali

Mr. Sultan bin Hassan Al-Jamali serves as the Secretary General of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Qatar University (1998) and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Cairo University(2013).
Throughout his career, Mr. Al-Jamali has gained extensive experience in various roles . He worked at the Department of Planning and Manpower Development at the Civil Service Bureau, a key professional milestone, and held positions such as Director of the Department of Human Resources and Work Systems and Vice-Chair of the Personnel Committee at the Supreme Council of Environment and Natural Reserves. He was also appointed as General Coordinator of International Agreements at the Ministry of Environment and held the position of Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), later becoming the Assistant Secretary General of the NHRC as well as the Executive Director of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions. It is worth noting that Mr. Al-Jamali was also a member of the International Social Responsibility Committee and the Crisis Committee during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Al-Jamali’s leadership has contributed significantly to promoting human rights culture across institutions and society. He played a pivotal role in establishing the organizational structure, job descriptions, and regulatory frameworks, and he actively supported the success of numerous conferences, seminars, and events organized by the NHRC and the Arab Network in Qatar and abroad. His efforts also facilitated the creation of new national human rights institutions in the Arab world, helping several achieve “A Status” from the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions’ Subcommittee.
