Dr. Tala Altaji
Dr. Tala Altaji is a passionate pediatrician and hospice and palliative medicine physician who grew up in Doha, Qatar. Following her graduation from the accelerated medical program at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar, she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in Rochester, New York, graduating with Honors in Advocacy and Excellence in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She then continued her training at URMC with a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. During her time in residency, she became particularly interested in both chronic pain management and end of life care for terminal patients, which fueled her passion for palliative medicine.  She decided to pursue this fellowship as it enables her to care for adults and children alike in this patient population. Dr. Altaji is currently enrolled in the Master of Education for the Health Professions program at Johns Hopkins University, a milestone in her journey of being a passionate medical educator. Her academic interests are focused on teaching medical trainees the art of communication in medicine, personalized pain management and bridging the gaps in interdisciplinary teams.
