Dr. Muna Al Maslamani is a distinguished leader in the field of healthcare, serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of the Communicable Disease Center and holding the esteemed position of Medical Director at Hamad General Hospital. With profound expertise in Transplant Infectious Diseases, Dr. Al Maslamani serves as a Senior Consultant and Assistant Head of the Infectious Diseases Division–Medicine Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar.
Her academic journey boasts a multitude of accolades, including an Masters of Science in Healthcare Management from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI)and an IHI Fellowship from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement and HMC. Dr. Al Maslamani’s educational background also includes a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of SurgeryMBBS degree, Arab Board Medical Specialization certification in Internal Medicine, and the completion of the HMC-Infectious Disease Fellowship Training Program, and a short-term fellowship in United States.
Notably, she is recognized as a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America (FIDSA). Beyond her clinical duties, Dr. Al Maslamani holds key administrative and academic roles both within and outside HMC. She serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) and Clinical Professor in Medicine (Infectious Disease) at Qatar University’s College of Medicine.
As a Fellow appointed by Planetree International and Person-Centered Care Executive Champion at the Communicable Disease Center, she leads by example. Her sponsorship of the Clinical Care Improvement Training Program (CCITP) and involvement in the IHI Best Care Always Campaign have resulted in more than 55 Quality Improvement Projects to date. Additionally, her extensive research contributions, boasting more than 150 publications and collaborations with international researchers, underscore her dedication to advancing medical knowledge.
