Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, MD, MSc, FRCP, ACPE

Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership. He is the Executive Chairman of the Gaza Health Initiative and the Chairman of Global Health and Relief Initiative. Additionally, Al-Hammouri is the Chairman of the Board and General Manager of the Specialty Hospital in Jordan, and he is a consultant pediatric endocrinologist. Since October 7 2023, he has dedicated a lot of his resources to support Gaza. Moreover, in November 2023, alongside Dr. Omar Lattouf, he founded the Gaza Health Initiative (GHI), which connects humanitarian organizations to rebuild the health sector in Gaza. In February 2024, the GHI launched its first conference, titled “The First International Conference to Rebuild the Health Sector in Gaza,” under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II in Amman, Jordan. The second conference took place in June 2024, hosted by the American University of Beirut, and the most recent conference was held in September 2024in Amsterdam, hosted by the Royal Tropical Institute. GHI now includes more than 50 humanitarian organizations. During his 18 years as Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), he played a crucial role in improving the healthcare sector, resulting in 2023 the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) declaring Jordan as a regional hub for medical and wellness tourism. Dr. Al-Hammouri was ranked among the top 100 healthcare leaders by Forbes Middle East in both 2023 and 2024. Additionally, he was awarded the “Man of Achievements” for 2023 from the Palestine International Institute and was honored as the “Healthcare Personality of the Year” by the Arab Hospitals Federation in 2020.
