In the Line of Fire – Protecting Health in Armed Conflict
Over the course of the last year, there has been an alarming escalation in violence against healthcare and health workers. International Humanitarian Law is clear in its protection of medical care in conflict, and yet vital health services have been attacked and severely disupted, leaving civilians and vulnerable populations without essential care. This report and subsequent panel address the key challenges and trends in global conflict and the nature of attacks on population health. Bold policy recommendations are set forth, addressing governments, organizations, UN agencies and civil society groups to condemn and act towards ending the suffering of millions around the world.
