Why is Palliative Care So Poorly Covered by Medical Schools?

Is the desire to promote healing stopping medical educators from giving enough time and focus to palliative care? Death is a certainty for all of humanity, so why is end-of-life care such a small part of the curriculum for medical students? And should more effort be made to prepare healthcare professionals for dealing with end of life?
