“Leading with Joy: Creating Self-Realizing, Lasting Wellness

Innovative Journey to Align the Mind, Body, and Heart for Purposeful Leadership in Healthcare.

Our wellness journey is not just about achieving a state of health or balance, but also about an ongoing, dynamic process of becoming more aligned with one’s deepest values, purpose, and true identity. This session is an invitation to reconnect with your inner self —specifically the ‘child inside’ —to explore the profound connection between mind, body, and heart. As children, we immersed ourselves in endless play with no limitations, no budgets, and no constraints. We created worlds where we solved every challenge with intention, not limited by technology, finance, or the expectations of others. We embodied the human spirit at its purest, allowing our imagination to be the only boundary, and with the intention to change the world for the better.

Today, as we strive to keep up with innovation and progress, we find ourselves struggling to evolve purposefully toward the New Economy in healthcare, characterized by emerging Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), decentralized systems, and democratized opportunities. We struggle to engage meaningfully and create real impact and sustainable value because our learning methods are not always suited for this new era.

This session offers a hands-on, heart-centered exploration that will leave you feeling rejuvenated, purpose-driven, and ready to make a meaningful impact in the world of healthcare. Through the integration of play and mindful reflection, you will engage in a unique process of creating your own holistic wellness. Guided by the principles of “”Leading with Joy,”” this experience will align your mind and heart, empowering you to inspire others by embodying wellness. You will literally create wellness in 40 minutes using innovative life-centered design methods grounded in design thinking, combined with mindfulness and hybrid collective Human-AI Environmental Intelligence.

Participants will not only cultivate a sense of wellness but also realize and actualize their fullest potential—both in their personal lives and in their roles as leaders in healthcare. This journey of self-discovery and empowerment sees wellness as an integral part of becoming your best self, and in doing so, enables you to inspire and lead others more effectively. All you need to bring is your presence, intention to open your heart, and a mind set to experiment like you did when you were a child.

As of 2023, nearly 2 billion people live in fragile, conflict-affected, and vulnerable conditions worldwide, with over 70 million forcibly displaced by conflict, including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). In our increasingly interconnected world, escalating conflicts and emergencies are having devastating impacts on health systems globally. These crises disrupt healthcare services and significantly exacerbate the vulnerabilities of affected populations, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
Health systems in these contexts face severe challenges, such as inadequate infrastructure, shortages of medical supplies, and a lack of trained healthcare workers. These issues severely hinder access to essential health services and contribute to a deterioration in overall public health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than half of the world’s health facilities in conflict zones are either partially or fully non-functional, leaving millions without access to basic healthcare services.
Recognizing the urgent need to address these challenges, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) is committed to the rebuilding and strengthening of health systems that can withstand and adapt to the demands of emergency and conflict settings. This high-level event aims to convene key stakeholders to discuss and explore innovative solutions for building resilient health systems in these critical contexts.

Effective policy solutions are needed to combat air pollution, the second leading risk factor for death worldwide, second only to high blood pressure. Sources of air pollution are diverse, and are not always manageable, such as regional dust storms – in these cases, action plans must be set to protect humans from exposure. This roundtable discussion will explore progress on legislative action that helps to reduce the impact of air quality on health, in addition to showcasing recent research in Qatar and globally in potential interventions to reduce exposure and negative health impacts.
The post Health Impacts of Air Quality in Urbanized Arid Regions – Towards Policy Options (by invite only) appeared first on WISH.

Over 340 million children between the ages of 5 and 19 worldwide are currently overweight or obese, leading to psychiatric, psychological, and pyschosocial implications in childhood, in addition to an increased risk of developing other non-communicable diseases. In Qatar, this is no exception with a steep increase in childhood obesity rates over the course of the last decade. This session will suggest tailored policies and frameworks that highlight multisectoral partnerships and coordination to combat this growing challenge.
