Unveiling the Mental Health of Adolescents in Qatar

One in seven adolescents faces a mental disorder, contributing to 13% of the disease burden in their age group. Depression, anxiety, stress, and behavioural issues are major concerns, while suicide ranks as the fourth leading casue of death among 15-29 year olds. This session dives into the mental health of middle and high school students in Qatar, addressing the gap left by Western-focused research. It emphasizes the need for culturally and religiously informed approaches within the GCC, urging multi-sectoral policies to support the well-being of young people.
