WISH To Host Interactive Webinar On Coronavirus
A panel of experts from Qatar and Qatar Foundation will discuss the coronavirus pandemic from the perspective of Islamic ethics.
Broadcasting live from Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q), QF’s global health initiative, the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) will hold the webinar, titled Coronavirus: The Interplay of Medical and Islamic Ethics, on Tuesday, March 17, at 6pm. The discussion will take place in English, with simultaneous Arabic translation.
The panel of experts include Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Thani, Director of Public Health, Ministry of Public Health; Dr. Laith Abu-Raddad, Professor of Healthcare Policy and Research, Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar; Dr. Mutaz Alkhatib, Assistant Professor of Methodology and Ethics, Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU); and Dr. Mohammed Ghaly, Professor of Islam and Biomedical Ethics, CILE, HBKU.
The event is a unique opportunity to learn more and engage with experts on what has become the most prominent health issue of the day with an interesting focus on Islamic ethics. The expert panel will also discuss myths circulating around COVID-19 and the most scientifically reliable preventative measures.
Viewers will be able to ask questions via Twitter by using the hashtag #CoronaEthics.
